Map where people connect
Mark busy areas on a floor plan. Meeting rooms, desks, storage spaces and visitor areas may each have different patterns of use.
Describe the problem
Dropped connections, slow performance and a lack of coverage are different symptoms. Record the device, time and application involved to make the assessment more useful.
Separate staff and visitor needs
Decide what visitors should be able to access and which resources employees use. These access needs should be considered as part of the wireless network design.
Review the experience after installation
Check real working scenarios in the spaces where the network will be used. Revisit the wireless plan when the office layout or number of users changes.
